This is the most important part. This is where we need to really listen to you and understand what is most important to you. Not only to understand how you want to transform your home, garden or workplace. But also to understand how you want to use it with the dynamics of your family and social or work life. Once we understand that, we can help to realise your dream making sure that the finite details of your day-to-day life are fully considered when enjoying your completed spaces.
The brief will usually be a face to face meeting, which gives us an opportunity to understand the space you want to improve. We will then produce a budget cost plan and timeline for you. Our budget cost plan will not only explicitly tell you what is included, but will also explicitly tell you what isn’t. It is crucial we get off on the right foot, without any ambiguity or misunderstandings. Depending on what stage your ideas are at, we can provide architectural, structural and interior design support as well as planning submittals, building control, utilities and party wall appointments.
The exciting part! We will now start to plan your project with you. This stage will develop your ideas into a working product, choosing finishes and materials, ensuring that coordination and interfaces between different elements are well thought out. We will provide samples, colour palettes, specifications and construction details for you to approve. We will also engage any specialist suppliers or subcontractors to ensure everything you need to complete your dream is available when it needs to be.
Once we have signed off a plan, we will provide a fully detailed quotation and a project timeline too. At this point, you know exactly what the cost and time on site is going to be.
The stressful bit? No, we will do everything we can to make this journey an enjoyable one for you. Every project we deliver has a dedicated project manager. Our project managers carry out a lot of the work on site, so you are not paying a premium. The PM’s coordinate the trades to make sure everything happens in the right sequence. They make sure the trades are there when they need to be. They make sure that your property is treated with the utmost respect. They make sure that your neighbours know what’s going on, and that they haven’t got vans parked across their drives.
We will involve you in the delivery phase as much as possible. During the works, we will benchmark certain important features. This gives you an opportunity to see how a certain construction detail works before we install it, so if you want to make changes, you can.
Throughout the delivery phase, we will provide you with regular updates (at least weekly) on any issues or risks, how we are performing against our timeline, etc. We will be totally straight with you, as we know that honesty is honestly the best policy.
Our handover to you on completion will be a celebration. Your new space will be pristine and spotless. We will be there to show you how to use your new stuff, talk you through how to clean and maintain special finishes, and give you the opportunity to snag the finished product with us. We’ll have a team ready to attend to any snagging items as you pick them up.
We will also present you with a Project DNA manual that contains all of your user manuals and warranties. It will house your project drawings, a full specification of materials and finishes, and a list of all of the suppliers used with their contact details.
So, what next? We don’t just disappear and leave you to it. If you have any problems, issues or concerns, you can call Project DNA and we will help.
We are very confident about the quality of our product, so we will also offer a defects period of up to 12 months. In this period, if anything stops working as it should, or any defective workmanship arises, we will come and sort it for you at no charge. Whilst making a profit is important, it is more important to us that we make people happy. And they tell their friends. And then they tell their friends too. You are the most important person in our business. So, we will look after you.
In Safe Hands. Piece of mind. Safety is incredibly important to us. Your safety, our safety and the safety of everyone that works on our projects. To ensure that we maintain the highest safety standards, every Project DNA member on any site carries the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme accreditation. This is a five-day course that educates industry operatives and professionals in how to manage safety on construction sites of all types.
Our project managers also carry a gold (supervisor) or black (senior management) CSCS card. This is a nationwide accreditation to ensure that all people on a UK construction site have recognised safety awareness training.
Our project managers also have St. John Ambulance three-day first aid training.
